A. GIAC’s GSLC test validates your proficiency with GIAC Security Leadership Certification. The skills measured by GSLC include working with security management and administration. Upon passing this test, you will become GSLC-certified.

Q. What are the prerequisites for the GSLC exam?
A. There is no prerequisite for the GIAC Security Leadership exam.

    CompTIA and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced that they are collaborating to develop and market a new professional certification for IT workers. The certification is focused on storage networking and information management. The certification exam is scheduled for the second half of 2011.

CompTIA releases Storage+ Powered by SNIA Certification

CompTIA and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA)  announced  that they are collaborating to develop and market a new professional certification for IT workers. The certification is focused on storage networking and information management.

There is great demand for certified storage professionals, and this is the primary reason behind CompTIA and SNIA launching this certification . This certification measures your knowledge and skills required to support the major solutions in data storage, storage networking, data protection, and the underlying technologies. A beta release of this new examination and certification is scheduled for Q2 2011 with global availability in the second half of 2011.

Learn More About The Microsoft 70-647 Test

Q. What are the prerequisites for the 70-647: PRO: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator test?

A. Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) on Windows Server 2008 is appropriate for you if you are working or want to work in a typically complex computing environment of medium-to-large organizations. The certification focuses on a specific job role, allowing for in-depth validation of your skill set. There are no specific prerequisites for this test, although it is recommended that you should have experience of designing Windows Server infrastructures, Evaluating and recommending new technology solutions, serving as an escalation point for infrastructure issues, implementing security policies that affect the infrastructure on multiple levels, etc.

Q. What credit does the 70-647 test provide?
A. Microsoft’s 70-647 test is designed to measure your ability to accomplish the tasks of infrastructure design and global configuration changes in Windows 2008 network infrastructure. When you pass Test 70-647: PRO: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator, you earn credit towards the following certifications:

Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Administrator

Q. How many questions are asked in the test?
A. You will be required to attempt approximately 55 questions.

Q. What is the duration of the test?
A. Users are required to attempt all questions in 120 minutes.

Q. Which type of the test is it? (Adaptive/Linear)
A. This test consists of Multiple Choice, Hot Area, Drag and Drop, Build list and reorder, and Build a Tree questions. The test can be adaptive and simulation questions might be asked. There are no Case study type questions.

Q. What is the passing score?
A. You need a score of 700 out of 1000 to pass the test.

Q. What is the test retake policy?
A. If you do not pass test 70-647 the first time, you may retake it at any time. If you do not achieve a passing score the second time, you must wait at least 14 days to retake the test a third time. A 14-day waiting period will be imposed for all subsequent test retakes. If you have passed a test, you cannot take it again.

Q. Where to take the test?
A. Microsoft tests may be taken at Prometric testing facilities.

Q. What is the test fee?
A. The net price for taking test 70-647 is US$125. The net price does not include applicable taxes, vouchers, promotions or membership discounts you may have. The test is subsidized in India and China. The net price for taking test 70-647 in India and China is US$50.

Note: As of April 1, 2007, only citizens of India will be permitted to register for exams in India test centers, and only citizens of China will be permitted to register for exams in Mainland China test centers.
